Hey everyone!!
I just wanted to say HI since I'm a new SFGer. It's kinda funny....my neighbor gave me the original SFG gardening book almost 2 years ago and it sat on a self unread. I don't remember what made me pick it up the other day, but it's a GREAT read and I've since bought the new version and am working my way through every page.
I've tried a few box gardens in the past, but I built them slightly too big and put them up against the house (and too close together). In short, I could really only access them from one side and that pretty much doomed them to overgrowth and getting ignored. I now see the error of my ways and am looking forward to building properly-sized and located boxes. OUr growing weather here in Oceanside is almost year-round, and I'm getting into green-juice, so I'm REALLY looking forward to a non-stop crop of the greens I go through....cilantro, parsley, spinach, etc.
Also, there is a SFG 3 day seminar coming up in San Diego in October. I happen to have that time off work and am wondering if anyone else on this forum has attended one of those?? A review would be great!!
Anyway.....I'm looking forward to participating here and growing my knowledge of gardening in general and SFG specifically!!!

Re: Noob in Oceanside, Ca.
Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you are hooked like the rest of us now and I am a bit jealous of your year round growing season! I have never been to one but there are quite a few square foot garden teachers here on the forum that I am sure could tell you about them!
