Was looking through a link posted on another thread and found this french bean which looked good until I noticed it is a 'semi bush bean'.

http://www.reimerseeds.com/petite-filet-french-bush-beans.aspx

Can't decide it that would work in a pot or square or crowd out everything or ????

Bush beans do indeed grow vines about 2-4 feet long and can become entangled. This is opposed to pole or runner beans that grow upward of 13 feet or more in height.

As I understand your post, there isn't a difference between a packet labelled bush bean and one that is said to be semi bush bean. But, rather, all bush beans are actually semi.

Why do they have to make things so confusing? Sad

Thanks for your help.

semi-bush and bush beans are differnt

our semi-bush beans are growing taller and did need support ....they are about 4 ft tall....they did send out feelers and climbed a bit....

our reg bush green bean type dont need support and are only about a foot tall.....

our purple beans ( is like a green bean but its purple) is a bush bean..... its about a foot tall and would like support to climb.....we didnt know it this year but will provide support as they are falling over each other..... Shocked

hope that helps

I have a purple bean too (Royal Burgandy) and it is falling over as well. Should I put a stick beside it and tie it up to it?
