Need help identifying this bean
My son started seedlings in his preschool and of course when he brought it home he wanted to plant them in the garden. The preschool told us they were Lima beans...these don't look like Lima Beans...they are bush variety!
Any help is appreciated...when they flowered it was a light purple and on the pod there's a black/purple streaking. Do we shell these or steam them up and eat them whole?

Those don't look like limas to me. I would say snap off the ends, snap into the size to eat and steam/cook as a green bean.
