Other then the cost could you use Mel's Mix to reseed a lawn? Either over seeding or full redo. Pros/Cons?

What kind of grass are you hoping to plant? In the south we typically plant fescue from seed and everything else from sod. That being said, a couple years ago I had to have my sod replaced after a couple years of drought and neglect, they killed the grass (okay, mostly weeds) that were there and then put some fill dirt in to get things nice and level, then put in the new sod. I don't see any reason you couldn't use mel's mix, but I suspect it would be unnecessary and cost prohibitive. My new zyosia sod has been doing fine.

More just wondering at this point. It would most likely be a Kentucky Bluegrass.

If I was prepping an area for reseeding a lawn I would skip the vermiculite and use a compost peat blend, spread it thinly and till that in. You need to condition the dirt not grow vegetables. Very Happy

For a lawn, I'd be inclined to take the compost and make tea to feed the soil and begin growing the good stuff (microbes, bacteria, etc.) that keep soil healthy.
