Hi, I'm a longtime vegetable gardener from Western Oregon. I read Mel's book many years ago and use some of the SFG ideas in my garden - especially spacing. Our gardening area is somewhat constrained because of shading trees so the areas that do get good sun need to be maximized.

I dug up my first garlic of the season (Okrent) this evening and it looks like I need to start harvesting pretty soon. Hoping for a few days of dry weather before I get to it. Very Happy

Hey there plainolebill and welcome to the forum! We can always use advice from experienced gardeners around here so I hope you'll stick around. From the home page, scroll down to the Regional Forums and find the Pacific Northwest. We have our own subforum there and we PNW'ers like to hang out in there and keep each other updated on how our gardens are growing and what our weather has been like, etc.
