What are these 2 plants growing in my garden?
I have these 2 plants that are growing in my garden and I don't know what they are. I was tempted to just taken them out and I did a few but left the others there till I know more about what they are. I am going to attach pictures.

Plant Identification
My niece is an environmental educator at Patuxent Wldlife Refuge which is fairly near you. She is visiting me for the holiday and I showed your pictures to her. She said the first one looks like pokeweed and the second one is in the nettles family, probably horse nettles. It looks like pulling them out was the right thing to do.
