Ammonia as a fertilizer
Has anyone heard of using ammonia as a fertilizer? If so what proportions do you use. Can it be used in containers as well as beds?

There is info out there that says it can be done. I have never tried it. Looks like you mix 1 tsp to 1 tbsp per gallon of water.
Might be worth trying your mixture on some weeds first to see what happens to them

I would go with what Charles says about using it on weeds first.

Thanks Guys, I thankfully don't have much in the way of weeds but I do have some flowers that have gone crazy. I'll try it on a couple of them. Thanks for the idea.

Re: Ammonia as a fertilizer
Some farmers use anhydrous ammonia on field corn it does make it take off growth wise BUT you can allso tell what part of the field they started at cause it's where the mix wasn't right and the corn got over coated and got stunted. So causation would be very recommended.

It is one of the chemicals of choice for the corn farmers in our area as well. Remember that it is heavy-duty nitrogen, not a balanced mix of NPK. If all the right things take place for the nitrogen to become bio-available, it will give a boost to foliage growth, but you still need the other nutrients to get good fruiting.
