fist green beans...I planted both Bush Lake and Contender.
cucumbers...I planted County Fair
tomatoes (Beefsteak I think)...around 60 new tomatoes on the vines in the last two days.
last evening's harvest...still picking beets and carrots...peppers are Mucho Nacho and Biggie Chili

Awesome pics! Wow that's a lot of new tomatoes! Looks like a good harvest, do you pickle your beets?

We eat enough fresh beets I decided to do a quick pickle on them jsut to see how it goes...put them in a wide-mouth canning jar with a little cider vinegar and water to keep in the fridge. I picked the last of my beets this morning...probalby fill another jar.
I'll need to freeze tomatoes this year as well as put up as much salsa as possible.

I love pickled beets so that's my plan with all my beets this year, and I love making salsa! I have never canned before so my plan is to learn this year and be stocked for the winter with pickled beets, salsa, and pickles. If all else goes well I would also like to put away some canned green beans, peas, and tomato sauce, and spaghetti sauce as well. If you have any recipes I would love to hear them!
