Lowes/michael's
Through fathers day at Michael's you can purchase $50 lowes cards for $40 no coupon required. I usually stop in about once a month for cake supplies but decided I wanted popsicle sticks for plant tags and was able to get two cards with some of the money I was saving for setting up a watering system. Now I am $20 closer to my purchase. Also Ebates is offer 5% cash back from lowes through fathers day. I order online through Ebates and choose store pick-up so no shipping costs. In total thats 25% off not great savings but every little bit helps. If you have any tips for $$ savings ( I am building my sfg from scratch so am dealing with a lot of the up-front costs this yr) please feel free to post. Also for those in FL around dunnellon area I found a retired gentleman with a little sawmill who used to run a tree service. I bought 2x6x8 foot roughpine for 3.25 a piece and nice florida cherry 2.00 a board foot. He has an ad on ocala4sale.com(look under misc and then home and garden) and he even helped me load it up.

Lowe's/Michaels
I am going to check out that deal in my area, too. The prices from that sawmill are good, but $2.00 a board foot is more than I would want to pay for lumber for my boxes. One eight foot long 2" x 6" would be $16.00. A board foot is measured as follows: Thickness (in inches) x Width (in inches) x length (in feet) divided by 12. My ex-husband had a sawmill and I counted many truckloads of lumber for him back in the 60's and 70's.
Re: Lowes/michael's
Yeah, your right. The cherry was bought for another project just was the best price i had found in a couple yrs:oops: . At least in my area
