wire barrier under box for moles?
Do I need to put down a wire barrier (ie chicken wire) under my box to block out gophers and moles? I live in Baltimore, Maryland.
I don't want to put down my box, have a problem and have to move it later if there's a problem.
Thanks! =)

Re: wire barrier under box for moles?
The quick answer is yes, But do put down hardware cloth instead. At 1/4 inch openings, it has much smaller holes than the chicken wire you mentioned. Chicken wire is better suited for larger critters used with critter cages above the box, 1 inch openings will get you the best protection. Watch when you buy since it is also sold with larger openings.

just fyi in case this can help someone, I put down window screens made out of aluminum. It has really small holes, comes in 4 ft, and is cheap!
