Supports for Pepper Plants
I remember last summer that I had problems supporting my pepper plants. This year, I want to figure out a way to keep them from falling over. Since my beds are only 6" deep, I cannot use the typical supports sold for this purpose. I have more than one in each 12" square, which makes it difficult to use an upside-down tomato cage. Does anyone have any suggestions?

How about this
They're square 14" cages, a little big maybe, but they might just work out for two pepper plants.

I had the same problem with my peppers last year but my beds are 12 inches deep so should I stake mine or go with the 14 inch cage?

I'm staking mine this year. I had the stakes on hand, so I used them. I only put one pepper plant per square.

Hey mrwes40..
How long of a stake would I need. 3 foot above the ground high enough or do I need higher?
I saw someone use these cone shaped cages my neighbor used but he complained they fell over. Thing they were sold as tomato cages but he said they would never of held them.
Anyway I like the staking; keep it simple right?

Could do a Florida weave with the posts on the outside of the box. That might work.

Camprn,
Do you just add more tiers on the weave as the plant grows?

Re: Supports for Pepper Plants.
I think I saw someone use a round support cage made out of hardware cloth and must of been zip tied..and could have be burried a little in the earth....one to a 12 inch square.....I thought I would try that one....Ruth
