Mid-Atl: 6/1 Tornado Warning - Check In
Hi Mid-Atlanticers:
If you're in the bad weather area, please let us know how you are doing.
4:50 PM and so far the rain has missed Glen Burnie, MD. The wind is blowing but not TOO bad.
Be careful everyone.

We are on the western edge of the rain that is moving over Frederick and into Baltimore. It is the next line that is in western mountain Md that I'm concerned about. I've put some Visqueen in place over our three beds in case we have to deal with hail later, which they are calling for. We're in a tornado watch until 9pm.

Re: Mid-Atl: 6/1 Tornado Warning - Check In
So far we're okay. We have gotten lots of rain so far and my little 'garden helper' doggies have their poor eyes bugging out of their heads.
I was so excited because this morning I saw my first green pepper, and so far the garden is hanging in too. My son and his family live in Pasadena, MD and I hear it is nasty up there. Hope everyone is safe.

Pasadena is the next town over. After my first post we got hit with a nasty thunderstorm. The wind has died down and it's a gentle rain now (8:11 PM).

storm warning
Its raining here, but I think I'm just outside the severe storm area. Waiting for the late news now. Was out to see my 48-yr-old daughter graduate as an LPN. I'm very proud of her. I did give the garden a quick look-see in mid-afternoon, and have to go get something to treat it with. I think I saw two of those striped potato beetles on two different eggplants. I'm new to gardening, so if anyone has any suggestions how to treat for these, I need help.

First: Congratulations to your daughter!

Second: You will probably want to re-post your question in the Pests area - I don't have much knowledge about this and not too many people will read this thread since it's Mid-Atlantic only.

My gardens (and us!) survived fine. Amazing we didn't have more damage- it's been a while since I have seen rain pelt down that hard.

We did fine, no hail. But I am glad I had the Visqueen in place over our beds. Our plants got a much needed break from the rain!
