Forest managment in SFG
Did a clearcut and burn on my maple forest in my bed last week, went out yesterday and it needs it again - talk about short growing rotation...and now the ash tree is dropping its spinners as well:( Going to sharpen my chainsaw blade and get with it.

I fee your pain. I must have pulled at least 100 river birch trees out of some of my deck pots today.
Very annoying because the portulaca had reseeded into the pots and trees and flowers are all mixed together.

Re: Forest managment in SFG
When I was cleaning out my beds and putting in the new round of compost for the season start I pulled up a small new weed - with a walnut shell still attached to the bottom! The squirrels have been planting their new home in my SFG. The neighbor's walnut tree (not black walnut) is on the OTHER side of my house!!! Must be one hiding a stash from the rest of the family. Dang hoarders!
