Toasty Transplants
I recently, rather unintentionally toasted my cucumber and green bean transplants by not hardening them to the elements, and let them be exposed to all day direct sun and almost 90 degree temps last week. Needless to say, they were completely wilted, and one broke it's stem and will be lost. They others, however, have perked back up after good waterings and shade cloth. I am curious as to how they will react to this mistake. Will they:
1) Be even stronger and produce good fruit from "making it through" OR
2) Be weakened and their yields lessened because of it OR
3) Not produce at all
We learn from our experiences, thankfully.
Thoughts?

Re: Toasty Transplants
I sun scalded several of my tomato plants last year and they
still produced better than any I've ever had.
