Mels Mix or coarse vermiculite in Upstate NY??
Hello everyone, total SFG newbie here! I live near the Syracuse area. Does anyone know if Mels Mix or the large 4 cu ft of coarse vermiculite is sold around here. I'm going to try HD and Lowes today but I doubt they have anything bigger than the 8qt bag, which seems to be the standard. I can't wait to start!!

On the homepage there is a vermiculite database. Looks like the closest to you is W.H. Milikwski Inc. in East Syracuse 877-473-3609

If they don't have vermiculite, they can order it from their regular Agway supplier.

Hello WAINGIRL. I live in Watertown NY just north of you and I ordered MM through my local Agway store. They said it has to come out of there Syracuse store. It is called shur gro for square foot gardens. There is a picture of Mel on the front of it. I paid 12.49 a bag for it. You can just dump it in water and plant. They also have vermiculite as well. Have you planted anything yet?
