Hi I just posted a hello in the introductions sections and thought I should say hi here as well. I'm in southern NH and on a small lot in the city (1/4 acre) I like to garden and work in the yard and want to increase my yield because I like to share with family and friends and help out people if they need it. I'm not rich by a longshot and like to try and do things with as much recycling of materials as possible. If anyone has any ideas on how to do things or where to find supplies like wood and such I would love to hear from you.

Great to see you here, I am over north of Keene, NH. I'm new too and having a blast!Southern NH here, new to the forums 53366 I'm so addicted to this site that I check it 3 times a day.

SFG seems to be where it's at for small gardeners. On the note of how to get started with beds... I just got some free wood from our trash transfer station to build a new bed. they had small 30" light pallets that are going to work great for my pumpkin! It might be worth a trip to pick up buckets, crates, or wood if your handy.

Agway seems to have a lot of different compost ingredients for Mel's Mix. Their fertilizer section has the composted guano, chickety doo, kelp, alfafa, worm castings and the like. They also carry the vermiculite, but watch the consistency. Their 4 cu ft bags are the fine stuff, which I ended up with.Mad They have smaller bags inside of medium grade vermiculite. Good luck.

Welcome!

I'm the Regional Host for New England, so I should be the sorta official greeter. I'm also self employed, understaffed and busy - so I'll be around more a little bit later. But you will find lots of helpful folks here, and lots of them in your corner of New Hampshire.

I try to be handy Smile I have considered getting pallets to break down and use for my beds. Just weighing the time vs cost. My neighbor up the street gets tons of pallets that he cuts up and uses to heat his house.

Hi and welcome, I didn't pay a dime for any of my lumber. I got if from new construction sites, I just asked them if they wanted me to clean up their "scrap piles" for them, win win!
