Materials for garden sign?
I wanted to make little signs for our SFG boxes - Asparagus Acres, Strawberry Fields Forever, and Family Farm. Maybe have the kids paint them.
Would acrylic paint last outdoors?
Any suggestions for durable materials that will last the growing season?
My only thought right now is a ceramic sign using either those special paints or going to a paint your own pottery place.

Re: Materials for garden sign?
I've seen paints at the craft store intended for using on wood, pots & stuff that will be placed outdoors. You could put a clear-coat sealant over the paint to make doubly sure. A wood plaque that's been sealed on all surfaces before putting it outside would work. Not sure, but I think wood would be cheaper than ceramic.
And what a great idea! We've named our veggie garden Toad Alley, so now that you've brought the idea up we'll make signs, too! Eventually we're going to plant flower gardens around the yard, plus plant some fruit trees to make a mini orchard in the front yard, and so far we've got names to assign several of them after several beneficial animals we've seen around, like Skink Street, Lizard Lane, and Blacksnake Boulevard. It will be fun for the boys if the names are on signs.
