I have planted 2 types of broccoli and they both bolted. My Bonnie spinach bolted as well. I also have several tomatoe plants did not get the memo, they are just sitting there. No flower buds no nothing. Any advice???????

I see you're from Nevada, are you from an arid hot location? I would guess that it has been hot in your location and the plants just couldn't handle it any longer and bolted. the end result for most plants is to reproduce and when conditions are right they do it, in your case both plants you are talking about are cold weather plants and any hint of severe heat they bolt and set seed.

Broccoli is a cool weather veg that will bolt in hot conditions you have in Overton Nevada.

This link will help you with growing Broccoli in hot locations such as yours...

http://www.gardeningknowhow.com/vegetable/bolting-broccoli-growing-broccoli-in-hot-weather.htm

You can't stop bolting but you can take steps to slow it down next time.

As for the tomatoes....according the the university of Nevada extension service you may have planted you tomato's far too soon....

http://www.unce.unr.edu/resources/horticulture/growyourown/files/pdf/GrowYourOwn8.pdf

They mention in the link above that you should generally wait untill Mid May or Early June to plant tomato's in Nevada.

If it isn't too too hot consider a cloche over the tomatoes - at least at night. Can be done with a two liter bottle with the bottom cut out and no cap on. Depends how big the tomatoes are. I am guessing Nevada is a bear for growing. Lots of cold nights and hot days about now.
