leaves turning yellow
Hi everyone,
My garden was coming along beautifully my cucumbers where flowering and tomatoes growing and now they have stopped blooming and the cucumbers that where starting to grow are dying. Some of the leaves on my patio tomatoes are turning yellow and the blooms are dying too. I check the soil and it is not moist so I water in the morning but it does not seem to help. I live in Palm Bay Florida is anyone having the same problems or maybe have some suggestions?

How hot has it been getting down there? What did you use for the compost blend? Have you added anything to the planting mix recently? If you post a photo that may give us some more clues.

Water , water , water. And maybe some early afternoon shade and or mulch. It sounds like your mix has dried out and is in need of rehydrating.

Saturate them really really well make sure the soil is wet to the bottom.

Most of my plants are in shade from noon on otherwise they don't survive even with watering twice a day. I'm in Central FL.
If you are container gardening with MM and the pot has dried up, take a bucket or a wheel barrel and fill it full of water and stick the pot in it.
Let the pot sink naturally into the water and let it stay there until the plant has perked up. Remove it to some shade and let it recover from the stress some.
Now, make sure you leave it in shade in the afternoons.
I used to do this before I started my own plants when I'd buy them at a produce stand or big box store and it made a huge difference.

Thanks All for all the input.
I am getting better results now. First i hit the Cucumbers with a fungicide and cut the leafs having issues off at the stems. The Tomatos i was told to do the same. These were the lower branches ans were hitting the ground. I Cut them as well and hit the the whole bed with a deep watering. Two days later i hit it with Fish Fertilizer.
The Cucumbers and Tomatos seem to be doing better. The cucmber stems fell and look stronger now. I push on them a bit and i feel resistance and the color has improved. I have marked the calender with watering date as well as days of rain. We had a hard rain 2 days ago. I heard the weather report and added more straw to the bed to protect the small plants and the soil. All came through well.
I have a one tomato plant that has 4 dime size tomatos already. I believe that between planting and mixing MM and working i neglected some things.
