If 6" of mels mix is going on 6" of existing soil consisting of 1/3 compost (50%loam), 1/3 peat, and 1/3 pumice will this be ok or create problems?

You'll do great. It will be fine.
Even if 6" of MM was on hard pack clay, you'd do great.
