You have a point, Ava! The pepper seems to be working...or one dig was enough for these critters to give up, unlike Scrat. They're in my yard every day, as some sort of weed that grows here (we can't get grass to grow properly under the Live Oaks) is apparently good food for those little guys. It also may be that acorns are so plentiful around here (Live Oaks outnumber every other tree species in the area) that they felt trying to dig through my soil to their stash underneath wasn't worth it. Whatever the reason they're staying out now, I'm happy!
