North Dallas Vermiculite
Called around looking for large bags of Vermiculite in the North Dallas area - anyone know of a place that sells the 3 or 4cf bags?

Your fellow Dallas Member have found these sites :
http://www.welchmilitarypackaging.com/specialty.html
Located not far from Market Hall, this shipping company sells 4 cu ft bags of coarse vermiculite for $20. The brand name on the bags is "Sun-Gro" and it is horticultural.
In Frisco, Texas:
Pardner's Garden & Feed Store
(972) 377-2165
Store Hours: M-F 8-6 & Saturday 8-Noon
4 cubic foot bags - nice people - this is where I bought mine (just 5 minutes from the house!)
I believe the bags were $25 each. Call to double check.
In Plano:
Well's Brothers Farm Store
I don't have a number. Saw this source from someone else in another topic. -- I don't recall the pricing but I want to say it was around $25 per 4 cubic foot bag.

Re: North Dallas Vermiculite
One note about Pardners in Frisco - the bag just says Vermiculite. I don't recall if it said "coarse" or not, but I've seen what other people have that is labeled "coarse" and I'm left to believe that what I bought was more of a medium grade. I used it nonetheless and haven't had any problems.
Re: North Dallas Vermiculite
I wish I'd have found it for $20.00. I bought mine at Chamber's Nursery in Irving for $35.99/ 4 cu ft bag and at The Plant Shed in Euless for $36.99/ 4 cu ft bag. I hope you can get a better deal. Many nurseries can special order for you too. Chamber's does for sure.
Good luck!

I bought mine at Well's Brothers Farm Store in Plano. It was somewhere around $25 per 4 cubic foot bag. It was horticultural grade, course vermiculite from Sunshine. http://www.sungro.com/products_displayProProduct.php?product_id=47&brand_id=5
