Suday evening musings
I scored a great deal at Ollies this weekend or so I think. They had 20 guage 3 foot high chicken wire in 150 foot lengths for $24.99. I looked at the various big box stores and they had it in 50 foot lengths for about $30.00. So, I went back to the store and bought the roll. I needed new fencing as the old wood fence I had has seen it's best days.
I had a major issue with my plants I had started. Something got to them and they look pretty bad. I took them out of the light set and cleaned the holding containers. I think I lost a fair portion of them but time will tell. Not sure what happened but the plants started to smell like ammonia Saturday. Never had this happen before so I am kind of miffed. I think it had something to do with the liquid fertilizer I used. Needless to say, I threw out the old and bought new fertilizer. Guess I will be buying a few more plants from the local guy here in Baltimore.
It is very tempting to begin planting veggies given our early summer. But, the garden people on TV say it's still too early so I will hold my hand. I will be setting up my hydroponic system this week. I use it for lettuce and it does a great job. Plus, the rabbits can't get to it as it is a vertical system. It gives me more room in the raised beds so I can plant more of what I like.
Well, have a great gardening week this week and enjoy the weather.

LOL gotta run to Ollie's! The beagles jumped over the little fencing sections I bought from Rose's while I was on vacation. Ggggrrrrr.
Because I'm teaching at the house I DID put in some things I normally wouldn't have and used a poly tunnel for protection.
I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle
