Who Are You?
I thought it would be fun to learn some first names or nicknames around here.
I'm Colin. Most of my friends call me leggy.

re: who are you
my name is de Ann. and yep, that is a little "d". grandaddy named my mom deMelba after his favorite cigar, mom gave me the de with Ann for a grandmother and my daughter is de Lese. She says she "must" have a girl cause she has already picked out de Lila for her. which of course means she will only have boys right? lol.
since I have added to my family by "adopting" my kid's friends, and I am the oldest one in my workgroup, lots of people call me "momma de Ann".

Re: Who Are You?
My real name is Maria. My mother was a music major and it's a very musical name (besides being my great-grandmother's name). My sister will tell you I was named after the song "How do you solve a problem like Maria" from The Sound of Music. But my mother will tell you I was really named for the song "(I Just Met a Girl Named) Maria" from West Side Story.
I guess the nickname that has stuck the most over the years has been Ria (pronounced REE-ya). My younger sister and brother called me that when they were little, and my stepson has called me Ria his entire life. In recent years, I've become "Aunt Ria" since I now have a wonderful niece.
...although my husband, with his love for flowers, tends to call me "petunia" and "sweet pea" quite often...

My real name is Maegan. My older sister chose my name from the my little pony cartoon from the 80s. My dad called me his nutmeg. And my kids call me mama or mom.

I'm Steve.
I've been called lots of names over the years, but I can't repeat them on a family friendly forum!

Re: Who Are You?
Haha, well, I'm Kate. :-) It's funny how some forums most everyone uses their real name and others most use something else.
I was Katie as a child, and my grandpa nicknamed me Katie-baby (I'm the youngest) which my family still calls me occasionally. But since I've got 8 children I'm most often called Mom or Mommy.

Re: Who Are You?
People know me as Llama Momma, or Gina, also Gina-Beena, and Kip or Kippy, depends on who I'm with. But like Plantoid the most endearing names come from my dear spouse of 31 years.

Re: Who Are You?
I'm Erica, never really had a lot of nicknames, in high school I had a friend who called me Ezica and I then got called by a few variations of that either Ez or Ezzi.
These days I'm called Mummy mostly, very occasionally it's Mrs Moore, in which case I look around for my mother in law!

Re: Who Are You?
I'm Marcy, and like Kate, I'm Mom to many (7) so that's what I hear most. When I was really little I was Marcy Mouse because my grandpa didn't get to name me Minnie. People often misread my name as Nancy or even (Mar-see-uh).

Re: Who Are You?
My name's Terry. I'm female, but my mom liked the male version spelling.
I've lived in Texas all my life. Spanish for Texas is "Tejas"...which means "friendly" ...so I go by TejasTerry online cause I'm pretty outgoing.
Other than my newly found gardening hobby, I ride a Harley, play poker, and enjoy participating in an all women's shooting club.

Re: Who Are You?
Mike. Here when I was born my mom didn't want to carry on the family tradition and name after me after my dad, grandad an great grandad. Most of my school years I was called { carrot top} for obvious reasons. Now days seance it's turned grey/white I can grow out my beard an look like Santa. The saddest one of all was when I stopped at Macdonalds one day an a 14 yo was behind the counter after I ordered my food she asked if I had my (golden buckeye card) so I could get my senior discount. She (thought) I looked 65 I was 45 at the time. It's hell getting old. Now days with 3 gran kids, grandpa is the name I get called a lot.

My name's Lisa and I'm a photographer, hence Lisaphoto. My nickname since I was a small child has been Weezie, but only by my cousin and my mom. I have no idea how that got started.
Re: Who Are You?
My real name is Lee Anne and that's why it's my name here. I have two children, a college freshman and a 7th grader. I am a SAHM with way too many hobbies, but my favorite is wildlife/bird photography and hopefully, after this year, gardening. Some people called me Lee-Lee when I was growing up.

Re: Who Are You?
Oh I had a few type 1, 1972 & a1974. Type2 were a 1962 split and a 1980 camper and when I was a kid we had type 1 1962, type 3 1964 squareback and then a type 2 European 1966 split with steering on the right. It was pretty funny watching peoples faces when we were going down the road and the dog was in the left seat. A friend of mine had a 21 window type 2 that I coveted.RoOsTeR wrote:Thanks camp.
