I just got my catalog for Territorial Seed Company. They have a new zucchini bred specifically for containers and small spaces. Supposedly it produces as much as a regular plant but is about half the size as regular zucchini plants. It also says they can be packed close together in gardens.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

Well, it looks like the minimum shipping from that company is $7.50, and I don't want to pay that for a $3 pack of seeds. If anyone buys some of these, or anything else from that company, let me know and I will go in on it with you or do an exchange.

I, too, would be curious to know if anyone has tried these. LOVE squash but they are definitely space hogs... I have my heart set on trying some Lebanese squash though so maybe next year on these... Smile

I ordered some from the second link, I will report how they do this year. I also am going to try and grow trombocino squash for the first time this year. It is a vining squash, that can be eaten young like zucchini, or allowed to mature into a winter squash.

I just planted a reg. zucchini in a corner square and cut off the leaves over the next squares to make it behave, planted spinach and lettuce next to it. It fineally grew over the edge and had the walkway to itself..

Thanks for the Renee's link I just ordered 3 items from them, one being the zucchini. I also picked up a bush type cuke and some pak choi. I am quite curious how the zucchini will be.

I bought some of the container cucumber too, I am curious how everything will work out this year. This is my year for experimenting. I plan on planting some things I've never eaten before, like turnips, parsnips, beets, and kale. I also have twenty different types of heirloom tomatoes started from seed, and I've never had a single heirloom tomato in my life.
