I can't help myself. I have an addiction to anything with an LED in it. I probably own half a dozen of these cap-lights along with two or three other varieties of cap-light/headlamps.
These particular ones can often be found at flea-markets. They are OK, but are pretty much disposable. I still use em and still like em, though.
I'm most fond of a headlamp I picked up at Lowe's. Nothing too fancy or expensive, but it puts out more light, is adjustable, and runs off AA batteries.

I know what you mean about the LEDs, TN! I salvage components from old electronics as a hobby, and I've made a lot of things with LEDs. Something like this would be easy to make with some basic electronics.

Me too! i love headlamps and have a few different styles. I call them "snail lights"! LOL!
