Worm in my Compost Pile

Worm in my Compost Pile
I just got through turning my smallest compost pile. In every pitchfork load of compost I had many worms. I started counting them but gave up at 200 worms.
I guess I will put them back in the compost pile when I get through turning it and adding more kitchen waste and coffee grounds. I am saving this compost pile to put in the bottom of the many new raised beds I will be building in the next few months. That should introduce worms to my beds.
I have a question - If I put cardboard down in the bottom of the bed to keep the grass and weeds from growing into the bed, and then put in my compost with all the worms, are the worms going to be able to survive. It gets up in the high 90's here in Georgia in the summer. The worms will not be able to borrow to down to escape the heat this summer because of the cardboard. Are they going to survive the brutal heat in a 10" or 12" deep bed.

Re: Worm in my Compost Pile
I've had worms in my containers.
I gotta believe that the worms will find a way to survive, especially when your plants start to grow and shade your garden during the hot summer months.
