Since I'm a 5b SFGer I guess I'm not allowed to post here What's Up for April in 4b? Lol . However, I want to get this topic started for you and I hope you will all chime in and be specific. Such as, planted peas; last year's lettuce make a comeback; peas froze!! Temp irradic. Mine would looks something like this:

"Bought wood for new box today. Turned compost. Cleaned old growth out of last year's pots and replenished soil with a handful of Mel's Mix. Tossed old growth into compost bin to start new pile."

You get the idea. Let's help the local newcomers know where we are with our gardens.

Have fun. Post updates regularly. Thanks. What's Up for April in 4b? Icon_sunny What's Up for April in 4b? Icon_sunny What's Up for April in 4b? Icon_sunny

What's Up for April in 4b? Empty Depending on where you look

Post  auntiemommy 4/12/2010, 11:54 am

Depending on what map I look at Rochester, MN seems to be on the boarder between 4a and 4b. My parents are solidly in 4a on the northwest side of the cities and I know here I am warmer than there typically. So I am going with the 4b classification. What's Up for April in 4b? Icon_lol

I put peas in almost two weeks ago, they are starting to come up. However they are not in my SFG. I got that built this weekend! I built 2 4x8 boxes and a 4x6 box. Got them filled and paths laid in pea rock. One grid built out of lath, more to make this week.

Planted some broccoli plants yesterday.
Weather has be incredibly warm for this time of year. Very out of the ordinary.
