The Hula-Hamburger..
Oh yeah! A little tropical flavor to a standard burger. You need:
- pattied hamburgers
- soy sauce
- pineapple sliced rings
- cheese of choice
- tomato
- shredded lettuce
- mayo
- brown sugar
- minced onion
- minced garlic
Marinade:
- Mix 1 3/4 cup water with 1 cup soy sauce with 1 cup brown sugar (packed). Add in 1/4 teaspoon minced garlic, and 1/4 teaspoon minced onion. Bring to boil over medium-high heat. Turn down heat and let simmer 10 minutes or until marinade thickens a bit.
- Place hamburger patties in coverable dish in one layer. Pour marinade over burgers until covered. Place in refrigerator 4-12 hours.
- In another coverable dish, place pineapple slices (drained) in single layer. Also cover with leftover marinade and place in fridge.
Burger:
- Fire up BBQ grill and place burgers on when ready.
- Cook 5-6 minutes and flip burgers. Once flipped, place pineapple slices on grill. Turn slices once.
- Toast hamburger buns to avoid mushy burgers.
- Just before taking burgers off grill, melt one slice cheese per burger on top and place pineapple slice on top of cheese so things melt together.
- Spread mayo on both top and bottom bun. Add lettuce and tomato. Place burger on bun and serve hot.
Finished product:
4 stars by my taste buds. Very good burger.

Re: The Hula-Hamburger..
Shhhhh. I'm surprising the Mrs. tonight with Bacon-wrapped filets off the barbie. Corn on the cob and garlic-mashed potatoes and a side salad. The real shame is that none of it came from the SFG this time.
I'm afraid to take a picture of that. Y'all might just drive over here and hang me from the highest tree......or force me to cook dinner. It sure has been good eatin' around this house this summer. If I do it, I do it right! You may be able to take the boy out of the Midwest, but you can't take the Midwest out of the boy............ooops, I never left.
