Welcome to the group! There are several SoCal gardeners on the forum, so you should find plenty of help from those that know your climate well.

Welcome from Culver City! Your zone is just a bit cooler than mine. Have you started a garden yet?

I'd be happy to try to answer any specific questions you might have.

If you haven't already, get a copy of the All New Square Foot Garden book before you make any decisions on your garden beds.

Welcome to the Forum....from Chula Vista about 8 miles from the border...near the San Diego Bay.....

Lucky us in zone 9.....our weather is such we can grow most veggies year round....on chilly days just cover with large plastic or cages 12"square with plastic and clothes pins....

My suggestion is to take it slowly otherwise the excitement will be overwhelming..so dont plant too many boxes. Copy the grids as per size and plan and plant........Ruth

Welcome. You will love SFG and gardening in general I am sure. Plus Spring is right around the corner! What most folks call winter. So unless you want to you never have to have a month without fresh veggies. Enjoy!
