When should I "sling" my melons? Empty When should I "sling" my melons?

And what do I attache the sling to? I plan on using panty hose for my slings, but don't know exactly what to do.

I grow mine in a square tomato cage. I tie the nylons to the vertical supports opposite each other. When I do this is just by feel. It's when I think the melon is heavy enough to cause the vine stress. There really isn't a "too early" - the nylons will stretch with the growing melon. Good luck!!
