Question about using a duster... Empty Question about using a duster...

Post  buttaflie143 on 6/1/2011, 2:01 pm

My neighbor asked it I thought it would be okay if she used her duster, which she used to apply sulfur as a snake repellant, to apply Sevin - an insect repellant dust, to her vegetable garden. I have tried to convince her to use some organic products, even offered mine, but she insists on using her "Sevin". Will the leftover sulfur residue hurt her garden?

Just a point, Sevin is an insecticide, a poison killer of all insects and not a repellent. It is toxic to all creatures. FYI Sevin label

Do you know what kind of sulfur preparation she is using? just curious.

As to the question of using the duster, there should be instructions for using the product in a duster on the label. It will spread the product more efficiently is my understanding. Good luck.

Thanks Camprn,
I think she knows how to use the duster, but her concern was whether or not she needs to wash it out because she used it with the sulfur before putting in the Sevin dust. She says its Rattlesnake Brand sulfur and its ingredients says its 90% sulfur. What do you think? Should she wash it out? Not that it matters since she's going to put down poison (LOL!) anyway. Can't you use sulfur in the garden?
