what should I add the second year?
Hi everyone,
We have tried Mel's method last year, it worked great, I even used this mix in my greenhouse which gave us tons of english cucumbers and tomatoes, my question is now that it's the second year do I need to add compost to the my existing mix from last year and how much? Thanks...

Lavender
It's great to have another forum member from Canada. You have a wonderful Regional Host who happens to be away for a few days.
It is always nice to have members with a year or more of SFG experience join our group. We would love to hear about your greenhouse experience too.
As far as adding to your MM, every time you harvest a square, you should add at least a trowel full of blended compost to that square to replenish what has been used by the prior planting.
When starting a new growing season, it never hurts to add more blended compost, as that is the sole source of nutrition for your plants. Sorry I don't have a specific amount of blended compost to use, but an inch or two spread over the top of the box, then mixed in would be good.
Again, Welcome and please keep us updated on your progress. We also pictures and would enjoy looking at yours.

Lavendar from another Canadian. I am in British Columbia, a long long way away from you.
Great site, and helpful and friendly people. I have learned lots in my second year of SFG.
