I get a garden shed
I get a garden shed!! All my stuff in one spot!! Hubby is picking up
materials a week from Wednesday. He built one three years ago for
storage. Now I get my own! It will be 12x16 with a window on each end,
door on front and back (big enough to get my tricycle kiddy trailer in for storage), and clear panels for roof! Yup, I get to have
fun!
DH is building it in the south west quarter of the yard. It will be set
from south to northwest by the sun's path! Next year I will move all my beds
to that part of the yard and I will have my own half of the yard....
Humm what happened here? Before I married him it was ALL my yard....I think I got the short end of this deal! ....... .....Nope...got the bestest hubby in the world so made a good trade...
And I got a wishing well, and a garden gnome...oh yeah! I must of been a good mommy/nana this year!

You 'let' him have his toy trains. I'm not sure which of you is the cleverest!
Re: I get a garden shed
Boffer, do you have any idea how tired I get of those trains?
But they make him sooo happy!
Guess this is what happens with the major rule is to spoil each other! And our hobbies intertwine! I landscape in the railroad and he eats my veggies!
One reason I wanted windows and doors all around..was so I could watch him play! It is so fun to watch a grown man play with his toys!
But they make him sooo happy!

Re: I get a garden shed
That sounds great and it can double as a place to start seedlings too.

A best friend who lets you play with your toys and gives you a hand and one who smiles while watching you play too - priceless.

Hi Shannon
I would if I could. But his train engines are only about 9 inches tall.
I haven't been able to figure a way to dwarf my veggies yet .
My grandkids know there is nothing in my yard...except rhubarb... that is poison. They have been taught to ask before trying though to make sure. So edible landscaping would be something I would love to do with his trains. Hummm better not tell him though! It would mean eating/losing the plants.

That is sweet.
We get called best friends a lot ..we get along great!
Maybe cause we both had 2 bad marriages before. We just don't find anything to argue about and if we get upset we just walk away.
I like that he has fun with the trains, I just don't like how every time I get a knick knack He has his eye on it to see if it is the scale for the railroad! Sometimes in stores he will eye something I found, I say "no, you can't have it, I saw it first"...and he pretends to pout! Have you ever seen a 6'3" 280 lb guy pretend pout?
I even had to find little trolls for him for under his bridges so he would quit eyeing mine! And my California Raisin band guys are in the gazebo playing!
I have got to take pictures of these things! People would just laugh!

Re: I get a garden shed
12 x 16 is not a shed to me, it's a house.
You could stick a lot of chickens in there. If you ever get tired of your husband, send him my way. I could put up with 2 of them.
Congrats, and please post photos when it's done!

Lucky. I'm still trying to fit two cars and all my lawn/garden stuff in a small garage.

Rofl..I don't have a garage! If I did it probly would be stuffed too...I seem to be a hoarder...ok..hubby call me frugal rofl...
NHGardener it is going to be big but it doesn't cost as much to build it that big the first time as to have to add on. I will use it for gardening, storing bikes/lawnmower/grandkid toys and outside furniture during the winter, and I'll hide it it! rofl..my kids would know right were to look...
I have gardening stuff in my daughter's basement, my front porch, stuck in this shed or that one. We will tear down the three smaller old sheds after I get this one. All in one place, a dream! Plus the hubby's rc plane he has stored in daughter's garage, we have to tear that down to, roof is falling in. He will be able to put those in our storage shed after all my garden stuff is out of it rofl...right now the storage shed has train stuff (he is going to expand his train shed/workshop next year) my garden stuff, winter outdoor storage, furniture I took out of the house till grandbabies are past breaking their neck stage, ect. various animal cages...humm wonder how empty that shed will be after it is all sorted...
So I guess half a garden shed and half storage. I will be taking photos at all stages rofl... I am so excited to get a perminate place to develop my garden!
