According to the weather channel, it looks like it will be a good week
for transplanting in the Ohio Valley area this coming week after
tonight. The lows are predicted to be in the low 50's for at least the
next 10 days. I now have a greenhouse that we built at my disposal so I
was thinking of pushing the envelope with my tomatoes and seeing how it
goes. If they live they live, if not, I have back up. But, it will be
cloudy and rainy some of these days and I know that those are the
conditions that you want to have for taking your plants out. I haven't hardened these plants off at all (which I should do today) but since they will be protected, I figure they will be okay. I have
been working non stop for the past month and a half to get ready for the
true spring and now seems like the time to jump on it. I know we will be in for a cold snap or maybe some more
snow before it is all said and done, but I cannot help myself, I want
this stuff outside and out of my closet! Anyway, I live about 25 miles
south of Cincinnati and hopefully someone will find this information
useful.

Thanks! I hope to get a couple of things out there so maybe this weekend is the time to try the ones I have back up for.

We are going to have some nice weather here in the mountains too, but it is going to be windy with gusts up to 40 mph for the next couple days.

Once the wind dies down I think I'll definitely try to transplant out my celery seedlings and some more broccoli and cabbage. It's good to have a break from all the rain and thunderstorms!

hardening off tender veggies takes more than one day. when is your last average frost date? as long as you can keep your greenhouse to at least 50F at night, they should be ok.
