I HAVE SNAILS!
I hope someone can help me. I went out to check
my garden this morning and found a snail eating my
new bush bean plants. Looking more carefully I found
17 on one cabbage - lots of babies. A total of 37.
Fortunately I was accompanied by my pet chicken
and she loved her feast (recycling?).
Does anyone have a suggestion as to what to do
to keep them away?

Re: I HAVE SNAILS!
The best thing I have tried is beer, take a small container, like a tuna can or small butter tub, burry it level with the soil and fill it 3/4 full. Try to get a high malt content, the higher the better (think Malt Liquer). The snals are drawn to the the yeast, they crawl in to drink, and drown. I keep some of those containers out there in my garden, when I see snails I fill them with beer, when I don't I put a bit of water in it for good bugs & critters, like bees & toads.
Re: I HAVE SNAILS!
There are a few previous thread regarding snails. I don't have time right now to look them up, but you can use the search feature, you may find some helpful information.
