Aspirin for plants?
So, I had to go out of town for a funeral-turned-vacation, and left hubby in charge of houseplants. He remembered the succulents behind the kitchen sink but the brand new hanging plants in the window right next to where he had to feed and water the dog were not watered once, in two weeks.
I watered them when we got home at 4am, and again this afternoon. Then I got to thinking that Christmas trees supposedly benefit from Aspirin in their water, so googled about aspirin to save houseplants and evidently it's not a bad idea.
Does anyone have any experience with aspirin for houseplants? I guess I'll have to wait to do it on the next watering since it would just overwater them right now. I read 3 tablets/4 gallons of water, so was going to do one gallon with one tablet, but will that be too strong? Should I maybe chop the pill in half?
Thanks Plant Gurus!

Re: Aspirin for plants?
I've heard about it as a preservative for cut flowers, especially roses -- but not for living plants.

oh, wow, it's amazing. I have two brand new plants this morning. Its like they were never neglected!!
Aspirin in the garden
I used it on my tomato plants today, after re-reading the tomato growing thread, then got to thinking how similar peppers are to tomatoes, so I sprayed them, too. Then -- just for grins -- I decided to do some research. Here's an interesting article about aspirin in the garden:
