Re: Is anyone in zone 10?!?!
I dont understand the confusion its JELLY. we use it on toast, crackers, biscuits , pancakes, cook with it in glazes and sauces. Its great with chicken and fish and adds a wonderful tart to pork and ham. In short we use it like what it is award winning jelly. ohhh yea and its good on a ......spoon
Re: Is anyone in zone 10?!?!
The confusion is that it just sounds like it would be so sour. I'm not saying yours is; I'm just saying the first thing that comes to mind when thinking lemons is definitely not sweet. I don't see lemon or lime or grapefruit jelly in the stores, so I wasn't brought up thinking of lemons in jelly as any more likely than hamburger ice cream.

I never had lemon jelly or lemon pepper jelly. I'm afraid I don't get it either.
But now I see it must be pretty good stuff.

We like to think we invented the lemon pepper jelly. You see lemon pepper in the store as well as pepper jelly so we had juice to spare and a dish pan of peppers and well we did it on our own. It was a huge hit with family and friends and with cream cheese on a cracker has been the star appetizer many times add smoked salmon and ya got a fancy hor durve
Re: Is anyone in zone 10?!?!
Well, I'd certainly try it if I saw it on a plate. You do have me curious.

Re: Is anyone in zone 10?!?!
Marc I am sure that being a gardener you belive in eating what ya got and can grow. One of the yankees said they never had a banana till they were 12 well that was me with apples. If life handed you lemons like it does me.
I feel certain you, like me would come up with a lot of inventive ways to use them. There is only so much lemonade ya can drink before your imagination takes over.

Making new recipes is definitely a pretty cool thing to do! Being creative is all the more rewarding when you can eat the results!
And those are certainly a lot of lemons. Such a nice big healthy size, too. I remember when I was a kid, for several years we lived in a house that used to belong to a farmer who had a big orchard. There were mangos there, and huge green limes that made the best lime-ade. Nothing like juices that come straight from the tree. I remember we would get a sort of vitamin-C high from them, they were so healthy and invigorating. Same as when we ate oranges by the armful during breaks in soccer games when I was a kid in AYSO. Fresh citrus is such delicious and powerful stuff.
I envy you your trees now. We have figs and apples, but to me, they're not as exciting as citrus.
