Don't forget you can wash your herbs, put them on parchment paper on a baking sheet and freeze them. Then you can put them into zipper freezer bags.

You can also chop fresh herbs, put into ice cube trays, fill with water and store in freezer bags when they're solid.

For more intensity, you can mix batches of herbs that you use a lot (say Italian herbs for spaghetti sauce, or a blend you like in soups/stews. Whir them with some water in a food processor or blender. Also fill ice cube trays and store in a freezer bag. Then just pop a cube or two into whatever you're cooking.

Of course you can always dry herbs and store them that way.

Those are some great tips ksroman! Thank you. I have seen the frozen cubes of herbs in the store, and I must confess that I have actually bought them once or twice. They are much too expensive. I will be planting a lot of herbs in my SFG next year, so this will be a great way to store them after harvest.

I have several LARGE stalks of cilantro in a watering bucket in my den/sunroom while I've been wondering what to do with them.

I will be freezing them on a baking sheet as soon as DD picks up the DGkids.

I've frozen some oregano & flat leaf Italian parsley in freezer bags. I think I'll like that method better than the frozen cubes. My rosemary plants are in pots and I just put them in my greenhouse.
