I am wondering if anyone has any information on this shurb? The berries edible. My local garden center recommeded it to me today when I asked about screening from my neighbors who are putting in an above ground pool that will be 5 feet from my beroom window- with a deck surrounding it.

I was thinking arborvitaes would be the only solution for me, but as the master gardener pointed out, they would not be using the pool in the winter, so a tall shrub would block them Spring- Fall. This shrub grows to be about 20 feet and per the info today, grows at a foot a year. So it would be about 3 years before I got all the blockage I wanted. I have looked it up online and it seems OK. I am jsut wondering if anyone has real life experience with it since the master gardener could not give me his experience with it. And if you have any suggests for other items to use to block the fence line, I am all ears. There is about 5 feet between the houses and the orieintation is northeast, so it gets about a 2 hours of sun in the morning and then another 4 hours in the late afternoon- during the summer. Both houses are single story ranches, so the deck and pool will be at about 4 feet, which puts anyone sitting on the deck directly even with my bedroom window and my son's bedroom window.

Many thanks
