new to SFG
Hi, I'm new to SFG and was wondering if there is anyone out there who has tried this in Connecticut? I plan on building my boxes very shortly and hope all will go well.

Hi Jenny,
Welcome to the forum. Yes, there are members on the forum from your part of the country. The old forum was closed for a while during the transition, so it's going to take a while for folks to start showing up again.
Watch for Martha, she's outside of Boston. She and her hubby own a restaurant and have sfg beds in front of it. They use the herbs and veggies in the kitchen, and they make for good conversation.
What are you planning on growing? Setting up the boxes is the only 'work' in SFG. The rest is fun. Read the book and ask questions-you'll do great

started seeds too soon
I have been reading the book and will probably plant tomatoes, beans, cucumbers and maybe some herbs. I started some seeds inside, but I think I was way too early. Only after i read the book did I realize that its better to plant peas and bean seeds outside.

Re: new to SFG
that's okay - you can just plant more soon!
I am in Massachusetts. Boffer gave me a better intro than I could! Look for me here in the New England forum or General Talk forum, mostly.
Last year was my first SFG year and I LOVE it!!! I'll look forward to "Hanging out" with you.

We all make mistakes
I was new to SFQ last year and I made my mistakes. Learn from them. Do better the following year. Make changes that fit you and your needs
You can ask questions and get great advice.
This is my first real year starting seeds indoors. I tried some last year but too late and only got a couple of plants.
I'm in southwestern Maine, zokne 5a.
Welcome to the group.

I'm new too
Hi! I live on Cape Cod and have had raised beds for several years now but I am planning to convert them to this system. They are not square but "L" shaped. Any advice? I think this system will use all of my space in the wisest manner. Thanks and I look forward to learning!
Re: new to SFG
Well, I sure don't see any problem with the boxes being L shaped - I would love to see photos. Sounds like it would be really attractive.
So what type of advice are you hoping for?
