It really does have a slight chocolate flavor; I don't have any now but have grown it in the past. Wonderful added to brownie mix.

I planted that last year. The kids LOVED chewing the leaves. Never thought to put it in brownies---num!

It also makes a fantastic tea - my favorite on a cold, winter evening. Just straight mint leaves, no "actual" tea. Sometimes I mix in a little spearmint, too.
It also dries well, so I use is fresh and dry some for later.
I've always wanted to use it in some mint chocolate chip icecream, but I don't have an icecream maker.

I have a chocolate packet cake mix that I'm going to add some leaves to this weekend, I'll let you know how it goes.

I have several mints that are coming into bloom, I would be happy to send you some different seeds. (Assuming it is legal to send seeds.) I am just learning how to collect seeds. Just remember friends do not share mint without a warning on how aggressive the stuff is.

Thanks Patty, that's a lovely offer. Unfortunately I have been told that Customs will seize any seeds/plants coming from overseas unless they have a certificate saying they have been sprayed with the nastiest chemicals known to humans.
I still haven't decided where to plant my chocy mint due to it's agressive nature, I don't want it taking over the whole garden. I might be looking for a nice pot.

Re: One for the ladies :)
A word of warning: Don't assume that just because it's in a pot, it won't take over the world. I made that mistake one year with lemon balm in a container. It bloomed and air-seeded EVERYWHERE. Years later it is still coming up randomly in my yard, the neighbors' yards....
