Another book to check out!
"New Urban Farmer from Plot to Plate: A Year on the Allotment" by Celia Brooks Brown (Quadrille Publishing, 2010, ISBN 978-1-88400-817-9)... I don't see it on Amazon in the US, but it's available on Amazon UK.
I've just borrowed this book from my co-worker... it was written by her sister, who is a well-known food writer in London. It follows her from the time she acquired an allotment plot (community garden plot) through a year of preparation, planting, harvesting and cooking. It is, of course, geared toward the climate in London, but the concepts work most anywhere (though she doesn't use SFG, she does have some raised beds).
... and the RECIPES!!! There are quite a few that I need to try... like the Giant Pumpkin Pasty... or the Broad Bean and Roasted Garlic Puree (somewhat like hummus)... YUM! I'm going to ask permission to post one or two of her recipes here.

That sounds like something I'd like to read. I'll be on the lookout for the book.
