Tomato Spacing

Just a quick question...can all indeterminate tomatoes be spaced one per square? I got two varieties from the store the other day (Pineapple and Black Krim) and the tags say to space 24-36". I double-checked and they are indeterminate. On the other hand, I have a small cherry tomato that is determinate - but most people say that it'll do well in a container...so does it really need 9 squares? Thanks for your help! :o)

Bonnie:

All indeterminate tomatoes that are properly pruned can be one per square. Usually on the North side of your box only as they climb the trellis and will shade other plants in the box.

If your determinate is a "patio" type it can go in one square. I would put it on a corner of the box to allow it to spread on each side.
