Building a deer-proof raised garden

Building a deer-proof raised garden
This guy had a neat idea for a deer-proof raised bed. And, he used the Hugelkultur technique to fill the beds. If I were to build new raised garden beds, I would probably do something like this. I would probably use welded-wire fencing rather than poultry netting, though, as it would last a lot longer.

Re: Building a deer-proof raised garden
great video. this guy solved the problem of how to prevent the interior SFG beds from rotting out with the aqua plastic and tape and how to protect the outside wood from the weather with the galvanized panel.
I wanted to add three more beds using galvanized panels, but I knew the zinc interior coating side would leach off after a few years, maybe faster , but this may solve my problem and allow me to have a 2-3ft raised bed.
I wanted to build it like this video, but now I will add the plastic on the interior and protect the edge with the top wood toe prevent the UV ray from breaking it down..

Re: Building a deer-proof raised garden
A new video on a walk-in garden with raised beds, also deer-proof. A lot of work went into building this garden.

Re: Building a deer-proof raised garden
Mine is similar, only waist-high, and definitely deer-proof. My problem is that I had to keep jamming more stuff in there to keep it away from the deer, so it's a hot mess instead of a work of art. This year, we're going to build another make-shift deer-proof garden in another area, so this one can be pretty again.
