September 15th!
Well, just picked 3 cukes, they are basically done. 2 eggplants, 7 big maters, bunch of little maters, and a couple poblano and purple peppers! Winding down except for peppers.
I planted 3 squares of radishes a couple weeks ago and 3 seeds germinated So I feel your pain, CN!

Summery temps here, and zero rain so I had to water Wednesday evening. Will clean up the cucumber trellis this weekend, and possibly the zucchini.

Got 1.5" of much needed rain early this morning. That is more rain then we have had in total all summer long, and the ground really soaked it up. Since we're leaving for a month, I'll be turning off the drip irrigation system for the raised beds and depending on the fall rain to keep them going.

That’s interesting, OG, we got about 3/4 of an inch in a pop-up this morning! Have fun on your holiday! Hopefully, there will be more reliable rainfall.

Took down the tomato plants today, since we will be gone for a month or so, and frost probably will have killed them before we return. Cut the plants off and took out the tomato cages. After the plants were taken out to the compost and the bed was cleaned out, I refreshed it with a couple inches of compost and sowed the Winter Rye/Hairy Vetch seed for the winter cover crop. The very end of the bed still has Spinach, Kale and Chard, which I left since they tolerate frost and a neighbor will harvest them while we're gone.
The tomato plants before I cut them down. They reached just over 10' tall, and were producing over a gallon of sherry tomatoes a day plus 3 or 4 big Golden Jubilee and Red Brandywine tomatoes.
After the tomatoes were removed, the bed cleaned and refreshed with compost, and then Winter Rye/Hairy Vetch seed sown fo rthe winter cover crop.

I have planted a fall gardens.. mache, spinach, lettuce, peas, claytonia, and kale. Then will cover the raised planter with greenhouse plastic before frost.

OG, looking good and getting ready for that “f” word; FROST!
nrstooge; I will be curious how your fall to winter stuff does. Mine are always hit/miss! Keep us posted!
Here, pulled the dying cukes, harvested the last 3 strangely shaped ones. Also yanked the zucchini, it was alive, had 2 tiny fruits, but the SVBs had the trunk of it decimated by now. Over! Maters and peppers still going strong, and believe it or not, eggplant. Picked 5 of those and gave them to a friend (who is a fabulous cook, and I no doubt will get to taste her creation!)
Planted 3 thyme varieties in a container. So pretty, but hey, thyme is short

So, didn’t do much here as not much to do. Received my garlic from Pinetree! EXCITED!!!!
Trying a new variety. Love garlic. Almost foolproof!
Surprise rainy spot....was supposed to be hot and nice...oh well.
Some peppers out there to harvest, and of course tomatoes...too wet right now!
