Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Rough terrain, so it's gonna be a long battle, but very few structures and people in the area, so that's good. So far, it's staying away from us and there's very little wind, so we can see some of it, but not smell any of it.CapeCoddess wrote:That's funny, Suz... I was thinking that your photo of the fire looked so much like a sunset and then I read your sentence under the photo. Hope it stays far away from you and that they are able to extinguish it quickly.

10-day is lookin' good -- nothin' but high 80s and low 90s. Gardens should be happy.
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
10-day is NOT lookin' good - next 7 days between 95*F and 98*F. Then it cools off to 93 degrees.countrynaturals wrote:10-day is lookin' good -- nothin' but high 80s and low 90s. Gardens should be happy.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Been enjoying beautiful fall weather, with daytime highs in the high-70's, and nighttime lows in the mid-50's. But, by mid-week it supposed to be back into the low 90's for daytime highs. If only we had a little rain....

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
I feel for you guys getting some late 90's. We are having 3 days in the 80's, then back up to 100 this coming weekend, then back down.
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
I'm happy with the forecast tomorrow and it don't look like it will yo-yo like September, 2002 did, where September 10th was at or near the 100s (F) and September 11th plunged to November-like temps in broad daylight, way before night!
Instead, it's more consistent in comparison. Not the 100s or high 90s expected, but the day after won't feel like November.
It's forecasted to be in the mid-80s tomorrow and low-70s the day after that.

We are making a run at deep summer here, approaching 90 today, wind coming straight out of the south right now. Pool: shocked and vacuumed!

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
It rained last night -- a pretty good one -- unscheduled. We didn't know until we woke up this morning to puddles, a wet car-seat, and wet pool towels on the deck.
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Cloudy, cooler, although it should warm up a bit for a couple of days. I moved the cukes into the greenhouse for a bit more warmth. I'll probably have to start covering crops that haven't yet matured, if only to give them a bit more warmth to do so. No frost in the forecast, so far.
According to Accuweather (not necessarily the most accurate forecasts), the jet stream is supposed to take a southward dive along the West Coast next week. I spoke with a local hiker this morning, who reported a dusting of snow on one of our local mountains on Sunday.

You mean you transplanted them or were they in containers to begin with?donnainzone5 wrote:Cloudy, cooler, although it should warm up a bit for a couple of days. RIDICULOUS! 68 in the house this morning -- could've started a fire in the wood-stove.
98 tomorrow and the next day -- could go in the pool.
So, is it winter? Summer? Not fall, yet.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
I started the cukes indoors, potted them up into Mel's Mix, then transplanted them into one-gallon containers with more MM. This isn't saying much, but they're doing better than any others I've grown in seven years in Central Oregon.

fryin' in The Big Easy
We have been in the high 90s (w/ 100+ heat indexes) for weeks on end with humidity at 50-60% during the day.
My tomatoes are under extreme drought stress. Not entirely unexpected, as planting a fall crop of toms here is a roll of the dice. Still annoying to lose them, though.
Need some storms and/or fronts to roll in. Can't catch a break here!

Hot here, not by your standards, but 90 is daycountrynaturals wrote:It rained last night -- a pretty good one -- unscheduled. We didn't know until we woke up this morning to puddles, a wet car-seat, and wet pool towels on the deck.

Cooling off nicely. Perfect weather to play outside. We even have a couple of rainy days coming this week.
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
97* F in the shade. Feels like 110*F. We have been breaking records all month. Starting tomorrow the temp will be lower than 90*F for 5 days. Then the following 5 days will be between 90*F and 95*F.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
YIKES! We only have 2 days in the low 90s coming up, and that's with low humidity and cool nights, so we won't even notice. What the heck?yolos wrote:97* F in the shade. Feels like 110*F. Cloudy this morning for doing chores, then showers this afternoon, when we can enjoy them. High of 69. How sweet is that?
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Shucks, a frost advisory about a month early!
Albeit the forecast is higher than 32 F. The forecast is 35 F, more like November or later October!
So my brother-in-law, shouldn't have to scrape frost off the windshield of his Ram.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Well, TWC was wrong, it got down to 33 F, when I wasn't looking at any of the thermometers!
About a month too early for that!

Triple-digits here! Wasn't supposed to happen, but it did. 3 days of a/c. Already 80 at 7:30am.
