Seems like yesterday it was 30 deg F and now the year is half gone and triple digit temps. We went from furnace to A/C  overnight and if we had a spring season, I must have slept through it. I'm already planning my fall crop.
The older we get, the faster it goes.

Drove today from west of Toronto to Ottawa which is about 550 km (340 miles).  When we stopped for lunch it was 33 Celsius (91.4 F).  While we were in the restaurant it started to rain and when we came out the temperature had dropped 9 degrees Celsius (about 16F) to 24C (75.2F). Crazy drop in temp.  As we neared home we got hit with big rain (microburst???). It made it impossible for me to see any of the vehicles in front of me so we had to pull onto the shoulder of the highway for a while.

It was warm, roughly the same temps, but later on, it just felt warmer than it really was, because we had clouds and was a bit showery. My spot missed the T-storm that reportedly caused a power outage in Charlestown, New Hampshire! (just across the Connecticut river!)

There's an old saying around here, that if you don't like the weather in Michigan, just wait!

Temps keep bouncing around from highs in the 50's followed by a day or two in the 90's. The lake temp rose from the 50's to the 70's this week. Sunday was record-breaking highs in the 90's. Heat and humidity is supposed to break today; my area has been lucky, so far we've avoided the flash flooding that hit the upper peninsula the last few days. I'm happy to have the heat break - it's been so oppressive, like walking into a hot wet blanket when you walk out the door.

That’s just crazy, CN.

Here, another hottie, high 80s with thunderstorms moving through and a cold front to take this baby down a notch.  70s highs and 50s lows over next few days, cheers

Temps here have been in the 90s F. We are currently at 91 and with the humidity it feels like 109F according to Environment Canada. It is going to be much cooler tomorrow with a high of 72F and then it starts to heat up again.

Actually, that's more of the type of heat Springfield, Vermont has.

Not the kind with the dewpoint at or near 80 F, FFS!

This week felt more like Florida!

But this weekend is at high risk of reaching a record low AM temp for summer! It's supposed to be September-like! Like when I start seeing school buses again, L O L.

113 degrees Fahrenheit--not normal, but maybe the new normal?

Every veggie plant is ok, so far.  The Lakota squash drooped but it will bounce back, and one Cherokee Purple tomato got sun scorched.  Tomorrow will be a 107 F.

Smokey air woke us up this morning. Fires on 3 sides of us. Nothing close, but still disturbing.  Sad

AT 06:19  58*F and sunshine then back into the 90's this week.  Went out to fill the bird feeders about an hour ago and had to come back and put on a long sleeve shirt. "That'll be a cold day in July".....  What a Face

We had some heavy rains during the night. Haven't checked the rain gauge yet but I will when it gets daylight. I have been giving my plants a shower every morning and watering about every other day. Our water bill is up about $20 a month which is not all that bad.

It was in the mid 90's here yesterday with about 70% humidity. Heat index was 100 deg F. That's pretty hot for my area. Looking better for today though.
Sunday
Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Going to the garden now.

It's been hot and humid, and we really need rain. We're not in a drought situation yet, but we desperately need a good, soaking rain. Not a downpour, just a long, gentle rain that soaks in all the way to the roots. I've been turning on the soaker hose almost daily, but it's not the same as the stuff that falls from the sky. C'mon, rainclouds!!!

Temp dropped to 45 F this morning! What the heck?! It was like summer was just a week or two weeks away from being over!

It felt like being near the autumnal equinox alright!
And this is when it's only late-July!
