Sanderson......Here is a photo of the ice cleats I use. I think I bought them from L.L. Bean but it may have been from Vermont Country Store. Its been so long ago, I've forgotten.
But one must get those that have strong rubber and solid metal cleats on the bottom. This pair has lasted me many years already and well worth the initial investment.

I bought some that were cheap, just a band across the foot, that didn't help the day I took a tumble last year on black ice. I went down hard but not injured, thanks to my well padded backside. LOL
I have been using the pair above every day lately, what with the snow and the ice and the icy rain we've had now and then. Today our pathways are iced over again even over the sand. We have to keep safe and this does it for me.
