I am trying to identify a plant.
A fellow gardener passed along a plot to me last year(2016), and said her Grandmother gave it to her å said it was called Yellow Bells. I have searched many resources, including my personal extensive gardenia library, my extension office, common name cross reference books, the internet, other gardeners, etc. I still have no clue as to the botanical name of this plant.

I have the variegated version of this loosestrife, called 'Golden Alexander'. It's very well behaved.

Yes, I have this plant too, very pretty, well behaved, not invasive. No care at all! I also have purple loostrife, and a white gooseneck variety. Love them all, but the white gooseneck needs to be reined in regularly....

Re; Gooseneck Loosestrife
Yes, I, too, have this plant and it does try to move into the adjacent area.

The white is the only one that I have to contain. I love them though, and so do the pollinators!JuneBug48 wrote:Yes, I, too, have this plant and it does try to move into the adjacent area.

Re: I am trying to identify a plant.
I funny incident from last year regarding this plant. I visited our Farmers' Market and I saw a pot marked Loosetrife and was about to buy it, when the vendor kindly looked it up in a beautiful book he had been given that illustrated hundreds of flowers.
You guessed it; I already had it in my garden for years. So the poor vendor lost out by being helpful.
But I did buy a couple of Hollyhocks that gave a lovely splash of colour in the garden last year and will so again this year so I was well pleased.
